  • Cement manufacturing
  • Aggregates and crushing plants
  • Mineral-processing facilities
  • Bulk-handling and port equipment

Rapid Mobilisation. Proven Delivery.

Every hour of lost production matters. Our teams mobilise globally, integrate into shutdown programmes and carry out precision work in demanding plant environments.

We bring proven experience in:

  • Planned shutdowns and kiln outages
  • Emergency breakdown response
  • In-situ shaft and journal recovery
  • Confined and operational environments
  • Repairs completed without removing major plant from site

Extend Plant Life. Control Repair Costs.

Our engineers develop practical in-situ solutions for large or difficult-to-remove equipment. Recovering the existing component can shorten the shutdown, remove complex lifting and transport requirements, and avoid the capital cost and lead time of replacement.

Forth Ports – Cement Unloader Slew Ring and Lifting Rams

Metalock machined the upper and lower slew-ring faces on a 20-year-old cement unloader and rebored three pairs of worn hydraulic lifting-ram link locations.

The 3.28-metre lower ring was machined flat to within ±0.02mm and verified by laser, allowing the new slew ring to be installed and the unloader returned to efficient use.

Lafarge Cement – Mill Journal Shaft Restoration

A 914mm diameter mill journal was severely scored after a white-metal bearing failure. Removing it from the enclosed mill building would have required part of the roof to be opened.

Metalock recovered the journal in situ using orbital turning and polishing, completing the work in less time than dismantling alone would have taken. The mill was successfully recommissioned with a new bearing machined to suit.

Cement Plant – 8,000mm Gear Wheel Repair

Metalock Engineering Germany repaired a cracked segment in an 8,000mm diameter cement-plant gear wheel, reconstructing the damaged section instead of replacing the complete wheel.
