Treading in the footsteps of James Bond, ten Metalock national teams, covering four continents, travelled to Coconut Island in Thailand to take part in the annual Metalock Group conference. Metalock companies from Sweden, UK, Germany, France, South Africa, India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, and Russia took part in the five day conference covering recent performance, current innovations, future growth, and included a trip to James Bond Island.
After an overview of Metalock Group’s 2016 performance by Tanya Dahlstrom, first on the agenda was the unveiling of the new Metalock Group website by the team from Iconnet who designed and built it. Attendees received training and were shown how the website can be modified to meet each territory’s specific needs whilst maintaining the consistent global brand message.
Next Sam Beer introduced Metalock’s new Metrology (Scientific study of measurement) Department, highlighting the portfolio of different equipment and discussing examples of projects undertaken, making clear the long term benefits of using Metalock’s sophisticated measuring solutions.
The afternoon saw Metalock’s Technical Development Division chair a group wide marketplace discussion covering the critical areas that enable Metalock to remain the Market Leader. The lively discussions ranged from equipment development and innovation to group-wide compatibility solutions.
Day two started with a detailed presentation of the full functionality of the new group CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system by Prospect Soft as well as training for all attendees. The Prospect Soft 365 rollout will enable full global business control through the entirety of Metalock’s sales cycle, including integration with the new website.
After lunch Martyn Green presented the board of directors’ 5 year plan for the group’s growth path into the future, emphasising the vision for company development and integrated global capabilities. This was followed by reports from each country’s team, highlighting recent projects undertaken, sharing knowledge and showing the group’s flexible capability that its clients frequently depend upon.
The third day was full of adventure taking advantage of the unique location for a memorable team building tour of the spectacular surroundings, including a cave walk, sea canoeing, lunch on a floating village, and exploring James Bond island, as seen in The Man with The Golden Gun. The day finished with a Gala Dinner held at Cape Yamu on Phuket’s main island.
The experience and vision of the conference organisers, Corporate Travel Plus, enabled a seamless and entertaining itinerary. This allowed attendees to fully exploit interaction with other members of the global team and discuss the leading edge developments that will ensure Metalock remain Market Leader. As the Metalock teams returned to their national territories, it was agreed by all that this high value event was, once again, a great success.
