Purpose of the job
The On-Site Machinist is responsible for performing precision machining activities at customer facilities, industrial plants, refineries, power stations, and construction sites. The role involves operating portable machining equipment to repair, modify, and restore critical equipment components while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and project requirements.

Characterization
Involve and participate independently all On site and shop machine operations like setup, shaping, grinding, drilling, boring, milling etc. The work will be carried out both in shop and at customer sites.
Result area’s
1. Inspections, Checks & Overhauls
- Carrying out visual inspections, read drawings, checks and condition of the component/part to be machined of fabricated
- TIG Weld in flat and vertical planes.
- Examine parts dimensions and for bead size and other specifications
- Grind or clean weld joint of work piece
- Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
- Tack assemblies together
- Assemble component parts using hand and small power tools
- May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc.
- Fabrications with welding and layout
- Able to align machines for boring and grinding , milling works
- Machining and fabrication of components for valves, gears, pumps, compressors as per drawing or as per sample to complete assembly works (installation and extending said equipment in shop, on site or/at customers’ premises)
2. Administration & reporting
Responsible for the reporting all finding, operations, processing of each completed machining task (selection of raw material, machining processes, consumables, quality, inspection) to Supervisor.
3. Customer contact
Responsible for the technical feedback about the job status to the Supervisor.
Skills
Education
- Technical Diploma, Vocational Training, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Machining.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in field machining, precision machining, or rotating equipment maintenance.
- Experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, or industrial facilities is preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Valid site safety certifications are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in ON site Machining components/parts.
