Ships Bulb Machining

The bulbous bow is a streamlined flaring or protruding bulb at the bow (or front) of a ship just below the waterline. The flare or bulb modifies the way the water flows around the hull, reducing drag and increasing speed, range, fuel efficiency, and vessel stability.

Bulbous bows design is determined according to the shape of the cross-section at the fore perpendicular of the vessel based on H—height, B—breadth, S—centre of gravity of bulbous bows sectional area.

Machining Ship’s Bulb location face, sealing groove 6mm deep x 61mm wide and drill and tap 34 holes.
